Tony Billau is owner of Billau Constructors; he has been in the construction industry since 1978. He is a graduate of Shawnee Heights High School and Kaw area Vocational School . He also attended Washburn University , all in Topeka , Kansas .
His construction experience started in the commercial building industry and after earning his state and AWS welding certification he began welding on Kansas bridges. After most bridge welding gave way to bolts he worked for Lower Mechanical Construction for 4 years to earn his plumbing license.
He began building his own log home in 1980 and in 1985 started Rustic Custom Log Homes of Kansas Inc. Soon after that he started Billau Constructors, both companies have built over 125 homes combined, log and conventional.
Billau says “were different from most homebuilders, because were actually on site” They do their own framing, trim work, and tile work. He say’s “we actually craft your home and are there to oversee subcontractors as well”.
Billau Constructors prefers to start with our clients early. Tony say’s “our clients normally hire our company before the plan stage” Tony personally draws your blueprints on a CAD system. He then takes you through the specification and bidding process. “I believe it’s a much better way to do business by hiring your builder early. Getting bids from several builders is rarely apples to apples, and normally the lowest bid is not your best choice” says Tony. “Get plenty of references and an honest, reputable company will pay off and make your experience fun”.
